The visual-literacy section features a realistic newspaper page about a rare Black Seadevil Anglerfish sighting. Learners analyse the headline, subheading, author, publication date, images, captions, article type and layout, as well as why expert opinions are included.
The summary activity focuses on surviving in the Tsitsikamma Forest. Learners must write a concise 50–60 word paragraph in their own words, selecting the most important information about shelter, safe drinking water, food, animal safety and signalling for help.
