About this resource

Help your Grade 5 learner prepare for the June assessments with this comprehensive ATP-aligned Life Skills – Personal and Social Well-being (PSW) practice test, complete with a full memorandum. The test is 30 marks and has a duration of 1 hour.

The test covers:

  • Emotional Well-being, Responsibilities & Friendships – 5 marks: understanding how to care for emotional well-being, responsibilities at school, healthy friendships, conflict resolution and discrimination.
  • Key PSW Concepts – 2 marks: matching important concepts such as friendship, bullying, conflict and responsibility with their correct definitions.
  • Rights, Responsibilities & Stereotypes – 4 marks: understanding emotions, the right to be treated with respect, peaceful conflict resolution and stereotypes through true-or-false questions.
  • Friendships, Decision-Making & Child Abuse – 9 marks: explaining the importance of good friendships, rights and responsibilities, making good decisions when upset, and identifying different forms of child abuse.
  • Discrimination, Inclusion & Respect – 10 marks: a real-life case study assessing discrimination based on language and disability, respect, inclusion, teasing, empathy and standing up for others, with learners applying their knowledge to suggest positive ways to make others feel welcome and included.
